Homeschool has officially started once again! I say this tongue in cheek, because we have been reading all summer, and only officially broke off learning for vacations. Yet it is September and all the world is returning to school...the pull towards education is strong.
I decided to keep a journal of our thoughts and experiences with our educaiton. Thomas Jefferson education is unique. http://www.amazon.com/Thomas-Jefferson-Education-Generation-Twenty-First/dp/0967124611 We may not be finishing workbooks or taking tests. It may not look like school. We will be learning none the less, or perhaps all the more, because of it. This journal is an attempt to keep track of some of the things we learn and discuss together. In that sense it is a record and a way of viewing our progress.
It is also a way of keeping myself accountable. It will hopefully help me analyze and think about how I am inspiring my children to learn...to be a more thoughtful mentor. It will help me see what is happening in our education over time to be a more organized mentor. It will also hopefully help me notice gaps in education and notice how our education could be enhanced.
Of course I decided to start a journal because this is a great day! I hope to record the great days, as well as the frightfully less than great days, so as to achieve an accurate sense of what is happening...
